Stitch Fix #3

Well, it’s time for Stitch Fix #3! I set it up for the end of January to counteract all of my holiday spending/new car tires/new car parts. Yes. The disgusting “shopping” aka stuff for your car. I think I’d much rather just ride a bicycle after all that. It would be a tad hard with my choice of shoe!

If you’ve read my blog (all five of you), you know I’ve battled with stitch fix on sending items for girls who are 2′ high, no chest and clothes meant for the Caribbean in winter in the northeast. I was a bit hesitant when I signed up for this month but I changed a few things on price points and went with that.

January’s selection was chosen by, Kat, who I think may be the first person at Stitch Fix to listen to 90% of what I actually said. So YAY!

The first item I received was a sweater from Kensie Vernon Heathered Mixed Material Sweater; $78. I was not crazy about this sweater at all. It was a very “light” sweater and the back was made of a thin, fabric we see on some blouses. It definitely wouldn’t work as a sweater for work or as a sweater in the northeast. With a price point of $78 it really was impractical. Oh well.

The next item is a 41 Hawthorn Aleah Heathered V-Neck Dolman Top; $44. I LOVED this color and the style was generally great. It fit well and I was pleased with it. However, I feel like I can get the same basic top at Target for > $25. That’s a huge difference for something so basic.

Item three is a pair of black skinny ponte pants from Sanctuary; $88. I will say: YAY! Pants that were actually long enough for me, comfortable and AWESOME. Size medium bottoms and overall great. However, I couldn’t justify $88 at the end of the season for a pair of pants that were on sale elsewhere for $30-50 less. So, yes, I did purchase these pants but I paid $50 for them versus $88. That’s a huge difference.

The fourth item is a cardigan from Yumi Camelot Strip & Polka Dot; $28. I did purchase this cardigan. It’s really cute and the price point is comparable for what I’d generally purchase a cardigan for. I paired it with a great camisole I already had to make sure it worked.

The last item was Loveappella Windsor Polka Dot & Colorblock Knit Shirt; $54. This was a cute shirt. The material was a weird knit feeling and didn’t seem like it was worth $54. I don’t think I’d get a lot of wear out of it either. It was actually a tad big in the stomach/wide but too short in the sleeves. I guess that’s what happens when you’re a giant!

Final Stitch Fix #3 verdict: This was a better box than before. I could have kept everything but the one sweater but it made no point. I did get the pants elsewhere, so overall, I liked 2 of the 3 items. I scheduled my next Fix for April 26th, so I’m looking forward to what they can bring me in “spring.”

Bauble Bar

So, I’ll self-admit: I’m not someone who wears a lot of jewelry all of the time. The lucky man to get me someday (I’m a tough catch- I have high standards my mama taught me) may be lucky enough to get off with “engagement earrings.” But that’s a totally different story.

I found Bauble Bar via Most-Eligible Dallas, Courtney loves Dallas fashion blogger, Courtney Kerr (http://thecourtneykerr.com/), who is a guest bartender for Bauble Bar. I immediately fell in love with a few of the pieces on her site and some miraculously showed up as a Christmas gift (only after the gift buyer had to go on a ‘hunt’ for them Christmas morning)! I really wanted the Iced Lariat Pendant but it was out of stock until mid-January (hello! look at it!)!

The prices for all the pieces are super reasonable and the jewelry seems to be pretty good quality! They have “Buried Bauble” pieces on Friday and Monday, which are cut down to $10 a piece! Free shipping! I really recommend taking a look to spruce up your winter 🙂

I really recommend checking out Bauble Bar! I have worn the pieces and received a lot of compliments! I actually made a Buried Bauble purchase yesterday for $10 and can’t wait to show you!
